4.1. Methodological overview
The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards the achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as lectures, practice sessions, autonomous work, study and assessment tasks.
Students are expected to participate actively in class throughout the semester.
Further information regarding the course will be provided on the first day of class.
4.2. Learning tasks
The course includes the following learning tasks:
- Exercises of Greek morphology.
- 1.1. The Greek noun: critical discussion of morphological analysis.
- Translation and critical discussion: the Dialogs of Lucian.
- 2.1. Translation and critical discussion of the Dialogues of Lucian.
- 2.2. Translation of selected passages from the Dialogues of Lucian.
- Reading of some works of Lucian.
- Reading of a text about Greek History and Literature.
4.3. Syllabus
The course will address the following topics:
- Topic 1. Greek language and Indo-European languages.
- Topic 2. The phonology of the Greek language.
- Topic 3. Inflectional categories.
- Topic 4. The morphology of noun.
